More skilled workers required

Despite the fall in EU unemployment (it is 7% - as low as this it has not been since mid 1980), more skilled workers are required, according to the European Centre for the Development of Vocational Training. A study by the centre has shown that the European economy has moved away from agriculture and manufacturing to a knowledge-based economy. The centre believes that by 2015, around 30% of jobs will need higher qualifications, such as a degree. Lifelong learning strategies will become vital to the success of the European economy |
